Crackling, the sparks enchant me.
Swaying and turning, without direction,
Yet always with purpose, intention, a lust for life.

Though destined to disappear,
They fight, they fight, they fight.
Never giving in they keep going outward until they pop.

Until the switch is flicked, until their life is up,
They fought, they fought, they fought.
They knew it would happen, ending without a second’s notice.

Is life but a spark, with so little time?
Must we fight, fight, fight?
We know our end will be before we can stop it.
Why continue? Why not give up?
Why pursue the impossible.

For the glory? We won’t be there to say we did.
For the stories to tell? We won’t be there to tell them.

It is because it is.
We are who we are.
Live it while we live.
Spark before it is over.
Before the fire is but ashes.
