Fuck SST Records

Well, it looks like my channel has finally become one of many, many victims of corporate greed here on YouTube. SST Records, the owners of the rights of the song Corona by the Minutemen (best known as the theme from Jackass), were apparently too fucking greedy to let a mere 40 seconds of audio play in the background on one of my videos (Moomin: Jackass Style) without making a buck, so they took measures to get my video removed from the site. They filed a DMCA notice to YouTube, which not only made the vid unviewable, but also put a copyright strike on my channel that may never go away. Thanks to this permanent blemish on my channel, I will no longer be able to upload videos longer than 15 minutes, and plus I can never become a YouTube partner (not that I have any interest in that). If all they wanted to do was take down my video, all they had to do was e-mail me or PM me to ask me to delete it, and I would have done so, and then reuploaded a version with a different audio track? But no, they had to commit an act of extreme malice and cause irreparable damage to my channel for something as petty as a 40 second clip of a song. Greedy motherfuckering asshole pigs.

I have since filed a counter-notice to YouTube in hopes of getting the strike removed from my channel. I can't get the video back, since I deleted it from my channel, wrongfully believing that doing so would remove the strike. But I don't care about getting the video back, I just want the strike to go away. In about a week's time, YouTube should send me an e-mail to inform me that they've contacted SST Records about my counter-notice, and if SST doesn't respond to pursue legal action against me within another two weeks, YouTube could remove the strike from my channel.

As I said before, Moomin: Jackass Style is no longer available on the CreamyGoodnessX channel, but I plan to upload a new version with Corona replaced with a Moomin style MIDI track. In the meantime, you can still watch the original video, which I've uploaded to Creamy's Wonderland, which is my main website...
