Description

The 'Delta' variant, which was the driver of the deadly second wave has mutated. The further mutation, 'Delta Plus' or 'AY.1' variant, is still in its nascent stage and shows resistance against the monoclonal antibody cocktail treatment, according to initial studies.

Public Health England, in its latest report on coronavirus variants, said that the 'Delta Plus' variant was identified in six genomes from India as of June 7.

While the variant is under observation, watch the video to understand how the virus mutations take place.
