Early on in his career as a bartender, Jeffrey made thousands of French 75 cocktails. He never really understood why they were so popular. Then he discovered the proper way to make them after reading Harry's ABC of Mixing Cocktails by Harry MacElhone.

Recipe:
1 oz gin
1 oz fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz 2:1 simple syrup
2 oz Champagne

Instructions:
Shake first three ingredients with ice.
Add Champagne to shaker.
Strain ingredients into a Collins glass filled with cracked ice.
