Frederick Kesner - Secrets

Description
Should I tell you the story
When this night has given way to daylight?
It will but torment the tormented
This story too old to be told.
I tried to write about it
But it doesn’t need retelling
It demand to be released from within
The core of you, of me, of all the living.
Should I tell you the story
When the dawn has given way to daylight?
I am not anointed to disclose
This story too old to be told.
Don’t fret, listen with your heart;
Don’t seek their meaning within or without,
Neither are they to be sought nor found;
You will listen but not understand.
I can’t tell you that story
For the night gave way to a fateful day;
You will hear and not understand,
That story torments those who know.
