Fred Stair - Unbeatable Unbearable

Oh, to have been Russian in 1917
There has been no equiliviant in
All of history

To be sure and boastful
And so dedicated as to be
Unbeatable
Unbearable
Unless it was that one was also
A poet
Insuppressible
As a few brave souls stepped
Forward
They got caught up in the
Purges or committed suicide
That all came later, but it was
Nothing but grand in that year

Those who were not geniuses
Went into exile
That’s one way to separate
The wheat and the chaff
