Like up north, a breeze sets your wavy hair free,
But it's mild and you're on the bank of a warm river
Not on slick, jagged rocks by the choppy, cold sea.

In a magnolia two mockingbirds fend off a crow,
But they're not seagulls fighting angry, icy blasts
And white dogwood blossoms will never be snow
