Description
Made lusher and greener by the recent showers
The songbirds in song in the sunlight of day
But where beauty is he only see decay
I showed him the lake where water birds did abound
Above the clear waters dragon flies buzzed around
The look of displeasure did darken his face
He said why bring me to such an ugly place
Together we walked on the banks of the rill
That babbled downland from the foot of the hill
But he did not seem impressed not one bit at all
He said there's no beauty here for me to recall
Then I showed him a place where all of the trees had been cut down
And he said what a beautiful place for a beautiful town.
