Your heavy eyelids are downcast
I can see the rim of your brow
And the outline of your jawbone

You look so beautiful in the dark

As we sit legs crossed facing one another,
Silence pinches at my wincing wonders
I can’t speak

I look up at you and our eyes meet

You stare; you stare at me like you do
Your eyes perpetuate mine
I look at you and away, at you and away

What is this moment?
This dark brilliant moment
Of you looking at me,
Of you asking me,
Of you telling me?

What is this moment
My love, what?

Your eyes are black with a diamond in the middle
Your eyes are pure with water running in circles
Your eyes are my captors

How do you cry out to me without speaking?
Without moving a muscle
Without syllables and sounds

How do you speak to my soul in this moment?
How do you look at me like that,
And ask me so many questions?

Where are you going my love,
With the next blink of your eye?
Tell me so I can follow you

I want to be with you when the light hits your face
