Four dead in 'filthy' US house

US police have reportedly found the bodies of two women, and a boy and girl under age six, in a filthy Washington DC area home.

"The crime scene is a location that I think that no human being should have been living at. There's no running water, there's trash and garbage all over the crime scene," Prince George's County Police Chief Roberto Hylton told reporters.

Mr Hylton would not specify the cause of death.

"Our patrol officers arrived on the scene and viewed a very horrific scene. We have the bodies of two adult females and two children we believe to be under the age of six. At this time we are not being specific regarding the cause of death because we're still in the process of conducting an investigation," he said.

He said police were questioning several people. He said the victims may be from Congo and that the crime appeared not to be random but of a personal nature.

Aerial video showed trash strewn around the yard of the home, which was above a garage on the grounds of another home.
