Floating Park May be Built in NYC

Media mogul Barry Diller's plans to build a $250 million floating public park on a Manhattan pier appear to be moving ahead. Diller unveiled the project back in 2014. Since then costs have soared and the civic group City Club of New York has filed a series of environmental lawsuits to scuttle Diller Island's construction. According to The New York Times, even though Diller pulled the plug in September this year the project has now been revived after New York Governor Andrew Cuomo persuaded all parties to come to a consensus on the park's design. Diller and his wife, fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg, are said to have already committed around $250 million to the project.
