Flash floods pelt China

Torrential rains made a surprise visit to most parts of China on Wednesday, causing severe damage to infrastructures and disrupted road traffic in many cities and regions. In Yingshan County of central China’s Hubei Province, downpour since Wednesday morning led to severe flooding in swathes of crop fields and some neighborhoods. A home near a swollen river was washed away by flood.
