Flaming Octopus Rides Through Beakerhead Art Event

This is El Pulpo Mecanico, a flaming 25-foot mechanical octopus that was built after a successful Kickstarter campaign. It featured in the desert festival Burning Man in 2012 and recently it showed up at the Calgary art festival Beakerhead.

The organisers of the event say, “it’s a time and place where engineers show their creative sides, and artists get technical, where science hits the street, and everyone gets ingenious.” El Pulpo Mecanico fit right in. Credit: YouTube/Crackmacs
