Issue: How to solve Update Error 0x80070422 on Windows 10?
i‘m quite satisfied with how windows 10 works, but there is one thing that I‘ve noticed. I‘m not getting any Windows 10 update. Whenever I access Windows Updates and check for them, I receive an error code 0x80070422. Does anyone know why and what should I do? and if you do not know then do not worry because in this video i have shown you "how to solve error code 0x80070422 in windows 10"
it is also known as "windows update standalone installer error 0x80070422"
Error Code 0x80070422 is one of the Windows Update bugs, which hasn‘t been fixed by Microsoft from the summer of 2015. While people have started reporting this issue a couple of weeks after Windows 10 release, the latest post about this bug check has been created in December 2016. Typically, this problem appears either after the installation of cumulative updates or clean install of Windows 10. 0x80070422 error is provided on a notification, which appears when a PC owner attempt so check for updates via Windows Updates service. While initially, this error may seem like a minor Windows malfunction, in reality, all Windows Update errors should be treated as a serious problem. If Windows OS is missing updates, it may become vulnerable, lack of new features, start delivering new error pop-ups, freeze randomly, and so on. Therefore, do not postpone Windows Update Error 0x80070422 fix and take needed actions immediately.
- What causes Error 0x80070422?:
This error "may" occur when the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) is disabled.
In pre-XP Service Pack 2 installations this service is set to Automatic Start up type.
However..... when Windows XP Service Pack 2 is installed, it appears that in some instances the service can be disabled and this can generate the Windows Update error code 0x80070422
- Microsoft have added this description to BITS:
Transfers files in the background using idle network bandwidth. If the service is stopped, features such as Windows Update, and MSN Explorer will be unable to automatically download programs and other information.
If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it may fail to transfer files if they do not have a fail safe mechanism to transfer files directly through IE in case BITS has been disabled.
