Isabelle Dinoire, the woman who received the world's first face transplant, has died. A statement from the hospital did not list a cause of death, but French media is reporting that she passed away due to complications with her most recent operation. Dinoire received the transplant after she was mauled by a dog. The ground-breaking procedure led the way to other transplants of facial parts. Similar surgeries have now been carried out in six different countries.
