FIFA unveils referees

FIFA unveiled the 29 referees who will take change of the World Cup matches in South Africa at their Kievits Kroon Hotel in Pretoria.

With no less than 2,000 matches refereed between them the 2010 tournament officials are the most experienced team every assembled.

Ravshan Irmatov of Uzbekistan will take charge of the opening match of the tournament between host Nation South Africa and Mexico at Soccer City in Johannesburg on June 11th.

Irmatov says he expects the game to be "hot and passionate," but will referee it according to FIFA regulations like any other game.

Carlos Simon of Brazil will be responsible for England verses the USA the first match in Group C he says he'll remain calm with 44 years experience but expects a very physical encounter.

Massimo Busacca from Switzerland is one of the tournament most experienced referees he admits FIFA President Joseph Sepp Blatter told him to be as natural as ever and to make decisions like any other game.
