A fibroadenoma is a benign (non-cancerous) breast tumour that is most commonly found in young women. There is no specific cause but it is frequently formed due to the hormonal changes in the body of the menstruating women. If you find any lumps during breast examination, then it is best to consult with a specialist.

Usually, simple monitoring is enough but if the lump increases in size, an ultrasound scan is done to confirm that it is benign and the cancer specialist will recommend whether to remove it.
