Ferrari has finally lifted the curtains off its most powerful mid-engined convertible – the 488 Spider. Fitted with a v8 Turbocharged engine that produces a whopping 660bhp at 8000rpm, it is sure one powerful machine that will make heads roll in the coming days.

The 488 Spider has been fitted with a foldable hard top that takes only 14 seconds to fold up or down. According to Ferrari, this new drop top is 25 lighter than conventional cloth roofs which can be seen in most other convertibles. The body of the car has been made using 11 different aluminum alloys which includes magnesium. Although it is a little heavier compared to the 488 GTB, we can safely tell you that it wouldn’t affect the car’s performance because of the engine it has and also because of its highly aerodynamic design.

The suspension of the 488 Spider has vastly improved to make its ride highly comfortable. With designs like the 488 Spider Ferrari has proved that convertibles have still not gone out of fashion and they will continue to occupy hearts and minds of auto lovers in the time to come.
