Fernandez wins re-election

Christina Fernandez de Kirchner wins a sweeping re-election victory in the Argentine presidential election Sunday.
The fiery center-left incumbent, known for her love of glamour and make-up, thanked her supporters and her predecessor husband, who died last year.
During her acceptance speech, she joked with a supporter who said she looks younger than her 58 years.
(SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) ARGENTINE PRESIDENT CRISTINA FERNANDEZ SAYING:
"I am a 58-year-old woman who fights... (talking to a supporter) Thank you, dear, but I'm 58, I am.
(SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) ARGENTINE PRESIDENT CRISTINA FERNANDEZ SAYING:
"But I want to thank, I want to thank someone who can't call me anymore, but who is the great founder of tonight's victory. Because I don't believe. I never believed, nor do I plan on doing it without him."
As results rolled in, official numbers showed Fernandez winning with 53 percent of the vote, 36 percentage points ahead of her nearest rival, Socialist Hermes Binner (BEE ner).
The scale of her win gives her a strong mandate to deepen unconventional economic policies, like generous social spending and child welfare benefits, that played well with many voters but irritate investors and farmers.
Despite double-digit inflation, Argentina's economy is growing at 8 percent a year... unemployment is at a 20 year low.
