Female windsurfer breaks world speed record for second time
Description
Zara Davis, 51, flew down a 500-metre canal to claim back her record with an amazing speed of 46.49 knots - faster than most speedboats.
She spent six weeks in a remote area of Luderitz, Namibia in Western Africa, waiting for the perfect wind conditions.
The area has consistent strong winds which blow from the south at the perfect angle to the sailing course, a narrow man-made canal dug into the desert.
Zara captured a gust of 45 knots in a south-southeasterly direction to reclaim the record she held between 2012 to 2015.
