Federer wins comeback match

MANILA, Philippines – Roger Federer eased through his first match after an eight-week break with a comfortable victory over Radek Stepanek in the Madrid Open. Federer, who is defending his Madrid Open title, played his first match since losing to Rafael Nadal in the quarter-finals of the Indian Wells tournament.
