Federal Reserve Forecasts Forthcoming
Description
The Federal Reserve will meet Wednesday, and the upcoming policy meeting should produce interest rate projections. Investors expect policymakers to explain why, when, and how much interest rates should rise over the next 3 years. The “dot plot” is released every quarter, explaining to analysts and investors projections for economic growth and correlating increases in interest rates. With interest rates near zero since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Fed vowed not to raise rates until the economy recovered. Higher-than-expected inflation, however, is forcing policymakers to make a move before the economy can recover fully.
