'Fear within refugees, migrant communities prevented them from accessing basic services'
Description
Increased xenophobia and discrimination have caused a lot of fear within the refugee and migrant communities in Malaysia, and this has prevented them from being able to access basic services, said Asylum Access Malaysia director Tham Hui Ying.
She said this during the launch of Amnesty International's Annual report today.
She said the xenophobia is now visible, with Malaysians reporting foreigners and refugees losing their jobs
