FDA Warns Against Internet Trend
Description
The Food and Drug Administration issued a warning against misusing nonprescription drugs following a recent social media challenge encouraging people to cook chicken in NyQuil. The over-the-counter cough medicine contains ingredients such as (acetaminophen, dextromethorphan, and doxylamine). The agency stated that boiling the medication could make it more concentrated and potentially lethal. “The challenge sounds silly and unappetizing—and it is,” the FDA said. “But it could also be very unsafe.”
