FBI Uncovers California Labor Union Getting Scammed

A major California labor union claimed to discover 39 million masks for health care workers. According to Newser, FBI investigators uncovered they were fooled by an elaborate scam. The U.S. attorney’s office wanted to intercept the masks for the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Yet they soon found out the union was trying to get supplies through a broker in Australia and a supplier in Kuwait. While no money was exchanged, no masks were ever sent. The broker and supplier are now the target of a federal investigation.
