He stares, with eyes of devotional size.
Wistful puppyhood gaze meets my heart.
This he knows, as his muzzle,
Warm but wet, digs to snuffle.
Deeply exploring he
Whimpers imploringly.
Licking dry, my sticky fingers,
He drops his disguise.
It's 'cupboard love, ' right from the start.!
