Farming under fire in Israel
Description
The military has forbidden work in the area near the Gaza border.
But the harvest does not not pause for war.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) SUPERVISOR ON WHEAT FIELD, YANON FERBERG, SAYING:
"Here in the Kishtila Ashkelon we have about two hundred workers coming every day to work, despite of the very difficult situation of the bombing from south from the Gaza Strip the workers are committed and coming every day to work and committed to work and committed to the growers to grow all the plants accordingly to our protocol."
In times of trouble workers have a place to run to for safety.
Otherwise, it is business as usual for Israelis farming near the Gaza border.
