Fan saddles up for World Cup
Description
Before the World Cup England soccer fan Andy Smith had a steady job, tickets for his team's group three games, and a dream.
He still has two out of the three, cycling 8, 000 kilometres around Brazil's World Cup venues to see England in action and raise charity cash along the way.
(SOUNDBITE)(English) ANDY SMITH SAYING:
"I wanted to have an adventure, I wanted to do a cycling tour, and I really wanted to come to Brazil for the World Cup so when I realised I could pull all those things together it was perfect. I looked at the map of Brazil, where the football stadiums are for the World Cup, and the route just kind of appeared to me."
Smith was in Manaus for England's first match of the tournament after a journey that's taken five months so far.
Fortunately he has realistic expectations about his team's prospects.
England lost 2-1 to Italy in Saturday's match.
He admits his long journey's had its ups and downs - avoiding pot holes and occasionall
