Batali lost his spot on the ABC series The Chew.
He is also stepping away from his company and the 23 restaurants he co-owns.
Target, one of the world's largest retailers, will no longer carry his books or pasta sauce.
Eataly, a worldwide food store that Batali helped bring to the United States, is distancing itself from him.
