Description

The rasping voice of a murderer
sucked the stars right out of the sky
And my breath ran cold and vengeance lingered on my lips
Tasteless.
Suddenly, I found myself with fists clenched
Hands scarcely shaking,
but my legs about to crumble
They were rendered useless when I tumbled on the concrete,
harder than stone, as your lies
and amplified to such an extent
that I can see your ego's about to burst
From this view the world looks beautiful
I long to see the moonlight reflect your dagger from here
'Who are you going to kill tonight darling?
Will you be coming clean tonight? '
A triumphant laugh and a scream loud enough to penetrate the flesh
compelling enough like a storybook lullaby to put me to sleep
And my mouth hangs open in awe
rather than in shock
It was as obvious as the disolving rain soaking into your cheek
I longed to touch you one more time
But my stomach had been gnawing at me for days
and it had nothing to do with hunger
You stood there with a cynical smile on your face
and I let it go
If only you could write with sincerity upon my skin,
I'd be labeled a victim
