Facebook user base now bigger than China’s population

Facebook now has 1.4 billion users worldwide - greater than the population of China. Despite recording a 49 percent increase in revenues between October and December, profits grew only modestly, as the social network spent more money on hiring new staff and acquiring companies like the virtual reality headset maker Oculus.
