Facebook Plans To Rebrand
Description
Facebook ($FB@US) has been under fire since before the 2020 Presidential election concerning its business practices, but the company is planning to get away from that scrutiny. CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been playing up the metaverse, a digital place where users can connect with one another and in-universe apps, most notably using the Oculus VR headset. The firm is also working on AR glasses and a new name that will shift its focus away from social media. While a new name has not yet been released, it will help Zuckerberg and company avoid bad PR associated with the Facebook brand. In early trading Wednesday, Facebook stock rose nearly 1 and a half percent.
