Facebook Appoints First Non-White Board Member

On Thursday, Facebook announced that Kenneth I. Chenault will join its board of directors. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg praised Chenault’s decades-long career with American Express and his proficiency in brand building. Chenault will be the company’s first non-white board member. Chenault’s confirmation comes four months after the company assured members of the Congressional Black Caucus that it would hire a black board member.
