A vendor at the Paco Market in Manila shows blue mackerel scad or 'galunggong' sold for 240 per kilo on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022. The government will import 60,000 metric tons of small pelagic fishes such as the 'galunggong' to offset a shortage in local supply in the first quarter of 2022, Agriculture Secretary William Dar said at a Laging Handa public briefing on Tuesday, January 17.
