Ex-soldier shot dead at checkpoint

A police officer fatally shot a retired soldier near a quarantine checkpoint in Quezon City on Tuesday afternoon. According to a spot report, the police fired shot at the latter after he refused to return home and instead "started shouting and uttering intimidating words" and "attempted to pull out his gun."

QCPD District Director Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo said that the police involved in the incident will face criminal and administrative investigation. He is already under their custody after he surrendered.
