Korean researchers have developed various intelligent robots including robots that help preventing dementia of the elderly by becoming their companions to talk to and robot housekeepers that help cooking. The key to these service robots, which are set to be commercialized, is the artificial intelligence technology. Korea is speeding up its research and development of the robots, with a goal to become the world's third largest intelligent service robot producer by 2020.
