Ernestine Northover - Skin Deep

Wouldn't it be fun if you could just unzip your skin,
And change the way that you'd like to appear,
One day perhaps, you could be, someone tall and thin,
And then the next, a person aged and dear.

You could look quite intelligent, and pass as a real pro,
Acting like a very clever dame,
Or maybe become a dizzy blonde, like Marilyn Monroe,
Preferring perhaps, the privilege of fame.

Now everyone, I'm sure, would like to try this if they could,
If, of course, they really have the 'pluck',
But there is one thing that worries me, which isn't very good,
What happens to us when the zip gets stuck!
