Ernestine Northover - Paradise Blessed

Rippling blue, sky's reflection,
Sea and river, winds direction.
Water lapping, briskly flowing,
Twinkling facets, motion growing.
Sunshine glinting, sparkling array,
Shining sunbeams, jewelled ballet.

Waves disturbing, turning grey,
Lightning flashes, sparks ricochet.
Gloom descending, thunder cracks,
Whipping twister, storm attacks.
Lashing downpour, terror felt,
Endless tumult, hailstones pelt.

Calmness gathers, squall complies,
Raindrops ceasing, uproar dies.
Gentle breezes, warming air,
Peaceful nature, silence rare.
Azure welkin, zephyr caressed,
Abundant freshness, paradise blessed.
