Erica Francis - Nowhere

As these circles I walk
become smaller
I realize how far from my dreams
I really am.

As your father tells you
to be home before dark
I am out
being the kid
your parents told you to stay away from.

I notice
nothing
anymore
but how free I am
now that you're gone.

How free I am
now that I can no longer choose
just one.

And the last cigarette in my pack
stares at me
with some brutal intention.

So I kill it.
