Eric Cockrell - Stop Sign

stop sign...
right in front of your heart.
blood red,
letters in black.
scars heal slowly,
sometimes it takes lifetimes.
even the morning sun
takes a while to melt the frost.
we are what we risk,
or nothing at all.
wrapped up inside the shell,
only echoes can touch.
pilgrim waiting,
for the traffic to clear.
stop sign,
that only you can remove!
