A lonely figure left in the ripples
A reflection better in glass
Trumpet sounds of nothing around
The silent vocals of brass

The children laughing; going wrong
Another world that’s in the pond

The single strider sees his own reflection
In this silent place
Images beatific for nothing specific
To look upon a strangers face

The tears that collide to combine
The reflecting pond turns to a shrine

The man he sees, from the boy he’s become
A life lost in his mind
Reflected upon the reflecting pond
Things he’s left behind

Crow crossed emotions finally fade
The reflecting pond reflects no more today
