Enrico Orbita - Humble Beginnings

It began with a thump in my chest,
and a feeling I had thought was the best,
but when the Lord gave a test, I escaped
to a world where a pad and a pen were my friends,
and my heart raced.
So I embraced this new world,
with a smile, all the while,
building hope for a day it'll change,
holding out (for the time) through the rain,
loving life through the losses and gains,
so that one day I might cry out in pain,
and explore new worlds again.
