ENGINEERING THE FUTURE

Tertiary Education Minister Senator Prakash Persad is calling for a major shift in how Trinidad and Tobago trains engineers and technicians… saying the country must break down barriers between academic learning and hands-on skills training.

Speaking at the APETT Technical Conference 2026 themed "Engineering our Future: Sustainable, Smart, Resilient," the Minister stressed that engineering must remain focused on solving real problems and improving lives.
