Encounter between militants, security forces in Pulwama

A fierce gunbattle is on between security forces and militants holed up in a village in Pulwama district of south Kashmir, as per reports on Tuesday.

It is believed that top Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) commander Altaf Rather among terrorists are holed up in a house in the Pulwama district

Security forces had launched a massive search operation in the area late Monday night to flush out militants believed to be hiding there. The operation was halted for several hours during the night, however, it resumed in the wee hours of today.
No loss of life has been reported so far.
