Gazing at a reflection
Upon a crystal-clear lake
The sky’s tears begin to fall
And the perfection they do break

In the presence of a stranger
Whose eyes are filled with fright
Trapped within the ceaseless dark
Seeking out the warmth of light

A frown upon a beautiful face
On which a smile cannot conceal
Feelings of pain and sorrow
That a broken heart does reveal

Drowning in a river of tears
That flow from swollen eyes
Washing away all the memories
That blacken the bluest of skies

Gasping for the kiss of life
To renew the love once felt
Into the unending shadows
The stranger does melt
