emerald eyes - Why?

You say that you're sorry,
but how can i really know
that you have realised the gravity of what happened
and it's not just a show.

Why can't you understand,
that things aren't easy for me
I've lost my faith in what we had
in the promise that our friendship was meant to be.

the way you apologised made tears well up in my eyes
and I wanted nothing but to forget everything and have a new start
but I am afraid if fate would repeat itself,
it would surely tear me apart.

With great difficulty I accepted its over,
and that it's time to move on
Why did you have to make amends just now
now, all my desicions are torn
