Elya Thorn - The Verse
1 Views • Nov 07, 2014
Description
I don’t know who he is,
Or if he is mine...
He weeps, he’s sad and trembles.
I’m trying to save him
From the coldness of the world,
From the heartless beasts around us.
I’m trying to runaway
From this insane devilish ritual,
But something holds me prisoner...
My feet are tied up,
I cannot run, nor can I escape,
And out from nowhere,
A great demon face appears
Right before my eyes:
Black and dirty and smiling,
Asking me to bow down before him,
Acknowledge him as my king...
The Child looks into my eyes,
Telling me not to give up,
I must take a decision,
Whether I resign,
But I’ll lose my Child,
Or I do not surrender
And I can keep my Verse,
But I’ll be stuck here forever...
So I make my decision and I cry out loud!
All the fiery demons around me,
Stare at me, smiling,
I am their willing prey,
But the Child smiles in my embrace...
At least he is free
Although I am trapped
In a merciless world,
My Verse is free!
