What was supposed to be a smooth merger between Samsung's construction arm and the group's de-facto holding company Cheil Industries has been complicated by a pair of injunctions served by Elliott, a U.S. activist hedge fund. Samsung C&T's third largest shareholder is urging others to block the move, arguing C&T is greatly undervalued in the takeover deal that's "unfair and unlawful". We take a closer look.
