Elizabeth Ungemach - Despair

My world crumbles down around me
It all just falls apart
My spirit has been broken
As has my aching heart
And I feel as though reality and I are worlds apart

What others see as color
I see only shades of grey
I don’t feel as if I’m living
Just existing day to day

When others see a rainbow
I only see the sky
When other see the truth
I only see a lie

I try to force a smile
For behind it, I can hide
If only people knew the pain
I carry deep inside
