I can picture you
In your dancer's persona
Scissoring across a stage
Filled with prima ballerinas
Their staccato toes
Stuttering across the floor,
Or your limber form
Among a sea of sinuous bodies
Writhing and straining to
The primitive beat of
Modern and ethnic dance.
And I can envision you
In your writer's guise
Head bent, pen flying across
The pages of your journal
words flowing more quickly
Than pen can write.
Or your thoughtful expression
Head inclined, eyes towards heaven
Pen tapping your lips
As you await poetic inspiration
For the words to offer themselves
To your altar of creativity.
